Golfers practice putting before the start of the 2021 Penn State Beaver Alumni Society Golf Outing at Seven Oaks Country Club. Nearly 100 golfers hit the links and bid on auction items at the Sept. 13 event to support the Penn State Beaver Student Scholarship fund.
Alumni, friends, and donors poured in to support two long-standing signature events sponsored by the Penn State Beaver Advisory Board in collaboration with the Penn State Beaver Alumni Relations Office. The annual Wine, Ale and Food Event and the 20th Annual Golf Outing raised more than $42,000 combined to benefit Penn State Beaver students.
Both events were canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, and alumni and supporters were eager to participate in the return of the events.
The Wine, Ale, and Food Event had two tents and a new layout that allowed guests to spread out more while enjoying the event’s offerings. At the golf outing, indoor and outdoor seating options provided more space for social distancing. Guests welcomed the small adjustments that allowed everyone to gather safely while ensuring the event committees could progress toward their pledged fundraising goals.
As the fall semester nears the end, we will soon be planning for 2022. Mark your calendars for May 12, 2022 for our 8th Wine, Ale and Food Event, and September 12, 2022 for the Annual Penn State Beaver Golf Outing. The 2022 Golf Outing will also offer a separate virtual tournament for golfers who love Penn State Beaver but are not able to attend the local event.
